How to Book Last Minute Vacations

By bloggerexpert On June 25, 2010 No Comments

Do you want to go on vacation but cannot figure out how to afford it? Last minute vacations are a good option for you. These allow you to save a lot of money - sometimes more than fifty percent - and they still allow you to have the vacation of your dreams. And they have the hidden benefit of allowing you to vacation at a better travel destination or just have more money to spend once you get there.

Pros of Booking Last Minute

There is an upside to taking the plunge and booking a trip on short notice. The main one is the cost. If you could not afford a full vacation, you may be tempted to go somewhere that you can afford which may not present you with the ideal situation. Booking shortly before your trip allows you to spend less money on the vacation that you want.

Cons of Minute Vacations

The absolute downside to taking a vacation at the last minute is that it can be hard taking time off and leaving for the trip on short notice. A lot of preparation needs to be made and some people need to scramble to take the time off. This situation is really ideal for those who have the time to take or are self-employed.

How to Book

Last minute vacations can be tricky to book because some of the offers are snatched up quickly. If you are serious about finding the deals, you can subscribe to online website that alerts you to them. Alternatively, you can sign up for alerts with your favorite airlines and travel companies.

If you want to book last minute beach vacations then you need to be able to make decisions quickly. Offers are snatched up quite fast and unless you can take the time off quickly, the offer will be gone.

Tiger Woods And The Master’s

By bloggerexpert On April 15, 2010 No Comments

If you are a big golfing fan like me or even if you aren’t then I am sure you have probably heard all of the hoopla surrounding Tiger Wood’s return to golf at the Masters. There seemed to be an equal split between those that wanted to see him do well and those that seemed to want him to do poorly. I think it really came down to what individuals looked at as something that was personal and separated from the game of golf or those that felt it was all intertwined. I think the other main issue was the fact of people believing that famous sports personalities are role models and those that believe that they are just famous sports personalities. I tend to think about it in the latter mode because I feel like just because someone has figured out a way to put a ball into a hole better then most of us does not qualify them to be a role model. Same thing applies in just about every other area of human endeavor. Just my opinion

Have You Started Christmas Shopping Yet?

By bloggerexpert On December 16, 2009 No Comments

I ask this question because regardless of where the economy is or how good the stock market is or hasn’t been the idea of the Christmas season and gift-giving hasn’t seemingly been affected at all. I wonder if this was also the case during the great depression? Of course gifts don’t always have to come from a store and with the advent of easy credit almost non-existent you can very easily come to the place of understanding that maybe this is where we should stay. Before the TV was popular the idea of keeping up with the Joneses wasn’t in vogue because of the lack of communication. But after the TV became common place then Madison avenue quickly started using it to sell us on the idea of all the things we NEEDED to have. Of course society quickly added in social proof and the rest if how we ended up here!

Are You Shopping Online, Offline Or Both This Year?

By bloggerexpert On December 6, 2009 No Comments

This is an interesting question because it makes a very interesting presupposition which actually dates it to this very specific period of time. That is this is the first time in modern history where a majority of people during the Christmas season may actually purchase their gifts online as opposed to shopping at a regular brick and mortar. This of course is true because of the advent and rise of the popularity of the Internet and the ability to get your advertising and/or product message across to many people in a way that has never been available to the average person. This phenomena is true around the world and I think will lead to some interesting consequences as a result. What happens when the power that was initially owned by the few is now shared among the many?

Are you looking for kitchen appliances for Christmas?

By bloggerexpert On November 27, 2009 No Comments

We are heading into the Christmas season and with that comes a lot of expectations. Are you looking to give a gift to the household in the shape of another new appliance for the kitchen? If you are looking for Large Refrigerators for example where do you start? We think if you take the time to become well informed on how to go about selecting the refrigerator you may want, choosing and filtering through available features, selecting the appropriate design and only then using price as a defining criteria you will end up with a purchase you will be satisfied with for years to come. This will bring a smile not only to your face but your family will be able to enjoy this gift that keeps on giving for a long, long time.

Is The Winter Depressing Or What?

By bloggerexpert On November 20, 2009 No Comments

I live in the Windy city and we can boast some of the best set of cultural and outdoor activities of any city in the Country (i.e. during the summer). However, when the winter comes around just the thought of having to go outside in the single digit and often negative wind chill weather can be depressing in and of itself. But I think living in a location that actually has dramatic seasonal weather changes can have some interesting positives. For instance, you will often see the lakefront during the summer filled with runners, bikers, joggers, skaters and etc. This is because they are making sure they enjoy each and every day of the Summer knowing it will end in a few months. I also think with the season changes that people tend to be a lot more productive during the winter months in anticipation of Summer returning.

Doing Christmas Shopping For Coffee Makers?

By bloggerexpert On November 12, 2009 No Comments

With the Christmas season just around the corner are you ready for it? If you are a rampant coffee drinker then you should look into getting one of the many excellent home coffee makers that is available on the market. This is made even more attractive if you take the time upfront to define the criteria you will use for shopping. We feel that defining your budget upfront, defining the features that are essential and locating a product that is easy to clean up will lead to you choosing and purchasing a coffee maker you will be satisfied with. In fact if you take the time to do all of this first you will usually save a significant amount of time looking for and buying a coffee machine.

Large Appliance Shopping (Large Refrigerators)

By bloggerexpert On November 5, 2009 No Comments

With the season of gift giving coming rapidly approaching are you in the mood for purchasing a large kitchen appliance this year? Maybe during the hustle and bustle of the year you had your eye on large refrigerators? This would be the perfect gift for the house especially if you are in the situation where your current refrigerator just isn’t big enough and/or you tend to store a lot of frozen foods and need the extra freezer space that a new but bigger refrigerator could provide. And to be sure that your wife will probably absolutely love the idea of having a shiny new stainless steel refrigerator to make the kitchen duties that much easier.

Or maybe you are thinking of something a lot more simply and un-assuming like home coffee makers? Of course this really only makes sense in the situation where you actually drink coffee on a regular basis. If this is your thing then getting a new coffee maker for your home will be something that all of the adults will enjoy time and time again. With the many new features available some of these machines can rival the quality of what you would get from your local coffee store and at a percentage of the cost.

Listening To A Podcast With A Reader

By bloggerexpert On October 15, 2009 No Comments

Sometimes, of course, access to a personal computer is not available, but it is still necessary to check a certain podcast. Fortunately, many podcast directories offer built in podcast readers in the site. Not only do they often show each recent episode that is available, they may also offer a way to view or listen to those podcast episodes from within the site. By using the viewer contained within the site, it is no longer necessary to even download the podcast episodes. However, the ability to move and share the episodes after downloading is one of the wonderful things about podcasting. The files can be placed on almost and media player, ranging from iPods to the new Play Station Portable. This flexibility is one of the reasons podcasts have succeeded, despite other technologies like streaming music and video. The desire of consumers to have control over technology cannot be over estimated.

Getting A Free Podcast Download

By bloggerexpert On October 8, 2009 No Comments

Its easy to find and download a free podcast. The best way to find free podcasts is probably to check a podcast directory. A podcast directory is a listing of many, sometimes thousands of different podcasts. The podcast directory will usually organize the podcasts by topic and genre, making it easy to find the type of podcast that is sought. In addition, podcast directories often allow the visitors to comment on the podcasts listed, and provide a list of the favorite podcasts on the site, making it easy for users to find the best podcasts available. These podcast directories can be used to browse through, introducing users to many different podcasts they otherwise would not have found.

Once a podcast has been found that interests the user, it is necessary to download the free podcast. The vast majority of podcasts will be free, but there will be a few that may cost a small amount of money. The process to subscribe to and download the podcasts is the same in either case. First, a podcast client needs to be found and installed. There are many free podast clients available, all providing a slightly different user interface and range of options. They come with many different names, such as Podscape, or Nimiq, and searching for ‘free podcast client’ or something like it will turn up many possibilities. When the podcast client has been installed, inputting the feed address will allow the podcast to be downloaded. The podcast client will check the address given for a small, machine readable file called an RSS file. This file will contain information about the podcasts, perhaps some text about the individual episodes, as well as the location of the episode file. Once the podcast client has been located the file referred to in the RSS feed, it will be downloaded and stored on the users computer until the want to view it.

Using S.M.A.R.T With Your Online Marketing Efforts

By bloggerexpert On October 1, 2009 No Comments

As described in a previous post to be successful online does follow a common set of activities. The first is to make sure you have identified a reasonable plan that you can get started on immediately. The second is to work that plan being flexible enough to change it as conditions warrant. The last is to manage the activities of that plan until you are able to profit repeatedly. Once you have gotten that far with your plan then to go further you should start setting goals for your success. I have found the S.M.A.R.T system to work wonders in this regard.

Specific: Goals should be able to be described discretely. A lot of times “Goals” are set that are so vague that it’s nearly impossible to judge whether we have accomplished them or not. Let’s use a common example like “I will lose weight”. As a goal it is way to vague and unspecific. The question you should be asking yourself regarding a specific goal is “Given the way it is currently described can I reasonable know if and when I’ve reached it?”. So using the same idea as the vague statement given before we end up with something like,” I will lose ten pounds by the end of two months”.

Measurable: Goals need to be measurable. For example, many of us want to get in better shape. But, “getting into better shape” is an ambiguous statement. A clearer objective is “I will workout 3-4 times a week for at least half an hour.” It’s a simple, concrete goal. This makes it easy to see if you hit your target.

Achievable: Goals need to be reasonable and achievable. Nearly everyone has tried to lose weight. Often the success of this goal comes down to being able to set practical goals. Losing 15 pounds in 30 days is unrealistic (unless you’re planning a medical procedure). Losing six to eight pounds in 30 days is reasonable. Don’t set yourself up for failure by setting goals that are out of reach.

Realistic: Goals need to be realistic. When we’re kids we think we can do anything. As adults we learn that while we can have a lot, we can’t have it all at the same time. It’s important to honestly evaluate yourself. Do you have the ability and commitment to make your dream come true? Or does it need a little adjustment? For example, you may love to play tennis, but do you have the time, talent and commitment to become a pro? Be honest.

Time Framed: Goals need to have a time frame. Having a set amount of time will give your goals structure. For example, many of us want to find a new job or start their own business. Some people spend a lot of time talking about what they want to do, someday. But, without an end date there is no sense of urgency, no reason to take any action today. Having a specific time frame gives you the impetus to get started. It also helps you monitor your progress.

Now go get to it

Setting Goals For Your Internet Marketing Success

By bloggerexpert On September 26, 2009 No Comments

Are you setting goals for your Internet marketing success? Like in my previous post you need to at least have a plan of action with a reasonable premise of success. Once you have created or purchased one then the next step will be to work that plan until you are able to replicate a profit at any level. Then you will rinse and repeat. The best way to rinse and repeat is to allow that step to be goal driven. For this we will introduce the S.M.A.R.T system of creating goals. My next post will go into detail about how using the S.M.A.R.T system of goal setting can help you in a big way to accomplish your dreams.

Online Marketing Efforts

By bloggerexpert On September 19, 2009 No Comments

When it comes to online marketing many newbies wonder why they haven’t found the magic button to untold riches. My answer to that will probably be a cliche to many but it really comes down to being motivated, having a plan and managing that plan until you find something that works. The first part may seem easy but is it really? You may be ready to do anything and everything when you first get started but have you committed to doing what it takes until? Do you have a plan of action that has a reasonable chance for success? Do you have the necessary techniques in place so that you can manage your actions and there outcomes so that you can customize it until you are  producing a steady source of income? Without these three points you will find it hard to be successful in anything especially online marketing. so go get to it

Using A Podcast client (i.e. audio blog perhaps)

By bloggerexpert On September 12, 2009 No Comments

The podcast client thus allows the user to view information on a wide range of topics from their computer, without even using a web browser. Just like blogs let people find writers they enjoyed for any niche topic they were interested in, podcasts let people do them same for audio and video. Its as if a thousands of radio and television channels were created to serve every possible interest, and more were made every day. Using the podcast client to access and download the files makes it as easy to keep up with the sites one likes as it is to publish the feed.

Internet Marketing And Podcasting

By bloggerexpert On September 7, 2009 No Comments

Are you aware of podcasting? Well it starts with using a podcast client. A podcast client is the software used to download and access podcasts. They are also known as media aggregators or software designed to automatically access an online feed or file and then download the video or audio file associated with it. A lot of these applications exist, with names like Nimiq, IpodderX, Juice, and PodSpider. Finding these podcast clients are easy and a lot of them are available for free. This makes it easy to locate one that suits your needs. They execute on your computer and periodically downloads a small RSS file from the sites it has been configure to watch. This RSS information lets the program know up to date information about a video or audio file stored on the server. If it matches what was configured then the podcast client will download the file for the user.

A Blogger’s Rant

By bloggerexpert On August 26, 2009 No Comments

I’m in the blogging clan. That’s just plain mean.

I’m #1 in this area. or least I would like to think so. This was a dramatic discovery fo rme. Based upon the given criteria, I would say blogging passes. I want to avoid feeling dumb about it.

When blogging I suggest starting smaller and simpler. If you thought that article marketing was a necessity because of traffic then try this.   I’m using some tight security on this one. You can’t see it now, but you don’t want to skip this. I’m hopping mad about  social bookmarking. With my last post about  social bookmarking we got to go a bit old school. I found this really great site that solved my problem. If and when I remember it I will post the link to it here. Since I already offer unique and new solutions to blogging!

Shopping For A Home Base Business?

By bloggerexpert On August 19, 2009 No Comments

If you are an up and coming blogger and haven’t quite yet hit the financial goal you need to go full time then you may want to consider one of the many home based business opportunities available right now. Basically you want that business to have three main criteria.  of course you can add more as you see fit but I think the most essential ones are

1) Low barrier of entry (Cost and Specialized knowledge)

2) Scalable (You should be able to grow it easily in a repeatable, predictable manner)

3) Quality service/products (You should believe in them 100%)

Of course you can always add to a list like this. But I think if you stick to these three as your main cut-off then you will come out better in the long run. Click here for more information on a home based Ardyss International opportunity

Looking For An Online Pain Relief Source?

By bloggerexpert On August 17, 2009 No Comments

It can be hard to find inexpensive but reliable pain relief drugs online. I know this doesn’t have a lot to do with blogging concerns at the moment but I came across a situation where I had to spend a significant amount of time looking for this myself and I came across a pretty reliable place as far as I can tell. I didn’t do an exhaustive test of all known sources but I did look at enough to get an idea of what you should and shouldn’t expect as far as quality of product, customer service and related concerns. Of course a lot of these are present whenever you have any type of online transaction that involves money. In any case read more about the origin of pain relief products here.

Blogging is the new news?

By bloggerexpert On August 5, 2009 No Comments

If you were like me and were glued to the TV as the post Iran election fallout was shown around the clock on CNN then you also saw how important things like social media can be in being able to diseminate information even among the oppressed. Who would have ever thought that it could happen in a nation like Iran?

The greater ramifications are that if it can happen there then how exactly has our society been molded by it in the near past and future? Most statistics would indicate a continued rise in the number of people that use the Internet in a daily if not hourly basis. What does that mean to traditional ways of communication? Is it better or worse? And why?
